has released a standalone version of their security monitoring product
Access Profiler Enterprise.
Access Profiler is designed to collect patient or client access and
authentication events from any number of systems into a common data warehouse
using Microsoft's SQLServer. This provides a common point for monitoring all user
activity
within the institution.
A typical institution may generate 1 to 10,000,000 events per day. Access
Profiler analyzes all activity and applies powerful
algorithms to identify activity that is suspect. This
includes unauthorized access against co-workers, VIP patients, relatives,
high profile cases, etc. All activity is summarized into user and patient
profiles so that the security officer can efficiently monitor and triage
suspect activity.
Experience shows that 10-20% of users knowingly violate HIPAA and institution privacy
laws and guidelines. Access Profiler efficiently detects this activity and
provides the support needed to follow-up on breaches and provide feedback
for security awareness programs.
Access Profiler maintains a mirror of related information that is
available in progressive drill-downs, allowing the security officer to
quickly research and qualify suspicious activity. A workflow component allows
the security officer to document findings for reporting purposes.
The data model supports creation of custom user reports, data marts, and
cubes for institutions with more complex analytic requirements.
Although designed for the Healthcare Industry, Access Profiler can be
implemented in any environment where users are accessing other people's
confidential information.
